David R. Squires, MD

Dr. Squires completed his fellowship in June 2003 at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. During his fellowship he received a Masters of Health Sciences in Clinical Research from Duke University as part of the NCI Clinical Scholars Program. He has a keen interest in research and was involved in clinical trials with tumor-targeted therapies while at NCI. His vast knowledge and energy will accentuate the established programs at AOA and build upon the research foundation.

Prior to his fellowship, he completed his Internal Medicine residency and medical school at the University of Utah. During medical school he was elected into the AOA medical honor society.

He decided to become a cancer doctor in 1993 when, prior to graduating from Brigham Young University as valedictorian, he discovered his own cancer. As a cancer survivor (leukemia '93-96), he offers his patients a unique perspective as he compassionately helps them and their families through challenging times.

In his spare time, he enjoys racquetball, outdoor activities, and playing with his 5 children.
